Day 8

Day 8 January 29 2008

I weigh 194.8 Blood sugar was 179 in the AM

Yesterday went well. Am having a hard time eating all the food that I can eat. Usually at the end of the day I still have one fruit and at least one grissini left that I can eat if I get hungry. I skip breakfast, if I do get hungry I have one grissini and that holds me over til lunch. At lunch I have the 100g of meat and a vegetable. At dinner I have the 100g of meat and a vegetable and a fruit. Last night I couldn't eat it all, so I had the meat and the fruit. So I am definitely not going over the 500 calories but I am eating all the meat that I am supposed too.

My blood sugar was 154 in the middle of the day yesterday. That is very good. I am taking the cinnamon in the morning and it seems to be helping. I am going to try having some vinegar before dinner to see if that helps bring my blood sugar down in the mornings. I would like to stay away from the drugs the doctor prescribes. Would be nice if I could keep the diebetes under control by natural means instead of medications.

I have noticed that it is much easier not to get cravings if I stay busy as my brother Nolan suggested. I am not hungry but I am craving things like pizza and nachos...oh and chocolate, I would really love to have some chocolate. lol

Karin,
I think some of the keystones of the diet might help your cravings. The fruit and breadstick are meant to give you instant calories, and the diet has you eat 200 grams of protein and 2 apples (or sub) and 2 breadsticks and then fill out calories with vegetables. I am thinking that maybe you are craving the carbs and sweets because you are skipping the last fruit and breadstick. Just a thought.
